Lucy4I Love Lucy! Sweet Lucy was surrendered to SLR in Jacksonville FL when her owner could no longer care for her. She is enjoying a fenced in yard to roam in with the foster’s dogs and loves her naptimes in a soft dog bed.

Lucy5Lucy is 14 yrs. young.  She has natural ears and a docked tail. She weighs 13 lbs. Lucy is salt & pepper. She is fine with the other dogs in the home. She basically ignores them. As with age, certain issues appear. Lucy has arthritis. She recently received an injection from her vet and Lucy is now hopping around like a rabbit in the yard! Sweet Lucy has cataracts so her vision is limited but she does see shadows. She is also hard of hearing but can hear loud sounds and will react when she hears you. How loudly can you say ‘treat!’

Lucy2As with Sr. dogs, Lucy needs to go out quickly upon awakening. She is house trained, crate trained and leash trained. SLR removed a bladder stone that Lucy had. She is fine with or without a fenced yard. A doggy door would be great for Lucy. If not a fenced yard, she needs to be leashed to go outside first thing upon awakening.

Lucy3If after reading Lucy’s biography and can meet her basic needs and are interested in knowing more details about her, please complete an adoption application on the SLR web site and enter ‘Lucy’ as the sweet, Sr. lady you would like to provide a forever home to. She would like to remind you that ‘aging is not a disease!’

I Love Lucy! Emoji
