Ginger2Put a little spice in your life with Ginger! Ginger was surrendered to SLR when her dad was admitted to a rehabilitation facility. There were no immediate family members to take this young dog. Ginger loves her foster mom but she is ready to find her forever family.

Ginger3Ginger is 6 years old. She has natural ears, a docked tail and weighs 20 lbs. She is grey and white. Of course she is spayed and up-to-date on all of her vaccines. Ginger is house, crate and leashed trained. Just say the word ‘crate’ - show her a treat - and Ginger is motivated to go right in!  In true Schnauzer fashion, she will bark at other dogs when out for a stroll in the neighborhood - she loves her daily walks! Ginger also loves car rides - she is always ready to go and will jump right in to her car seat.

Ginger5While Ginger loves to play with her toys and play fetch with you, she also enjoys a good tug-of-war (she usually wins)! She also enjoys her down time and is content to lay on the couch with her foster mom and watch tv or listen to music. As with most Schnauzers, Ginger is not a fan of stormy weather. She will stay close to you. At times, she will demonstrate fear and will flinch if you move too quickly.

Ginger4Ginger equates the sound of chopping with pieces of fresh fruits and veggies. She knows some of these will be placed in her dog bowl. She even lets her foster mom brush her teeth! Ginger is an Alpha girl so will need to be an only dog. An adult only home is a must. Ginger requires a little time to build trust but once earned, she’s a great companion and loyal to her pack!

If after reading Ginger’s biography and are interested in additional details, please complete an adoption application on the SLR web site and enter ‘Ginger’ as the spicy young lady you would like to provide a forever home to.
