Beloved ‘Baxter’ came home to SLR when his adopter suddenly passed away. She was also an SLR Foster Mom. Baxter is with his new foster mom in the Orlando area. He has acclimated well to his current surroundings.
Baxter is 6 years old, is silver and tan, has natural ears and a natural tail. He weighs 20 lbs. His teeth are in great condition. He is not an Alpha and loves to play with the foster’s dogs. Baxter will follow the other dogs and his foster mom around the house. He is very gentle when taking treats from your hand.
Baxter is house trained and has free roam of the foster’s house. He can be cordoned off in another room if needed but no crating for this young boy. He is leash trained but will pull a little on the leash as he enjoys all the new smells in the neighborhood. He must wear a harness when out for a walk. Baxter enjoys his walks so much that he doesn’t pay much attention to other people or dogs that he may encounter. He is not thrilled when riding in a car but loves his golf cart rides!
Baxter can be fearful of loud noises and quick movements. He will cower or run into another room. He will then pop his head around the corner to check if everyone and everything is ok. Baxter also enjoys his personal space as he looks out the window. He is quite the watch dog as he will bark during the night if he hears any strange sounds.
Baxter had some past GI issues so he continues to be on a special food. No young children for this healthy, wonderful boy. Baxter enjoys a fenced yard as he enjoys exercising in the backyard and playing fetch with his foster mom. Having a fenced yard is not a must.
