Rainey is a 3.5-year-old silver Schnauzer, being fostered in the Florida Panhandle. She has the silkiest coat, longest lashes, the biggest heart, and the biggest mealtime tippy-taps you’ll ever see. She adores belly rubs, kisses, and snuggling up at the end of the bed, and she’s never met a couch she didn’t want to call her own. Rainey loves to play and requires a confident dog sibling to keep her company and help her feel secure.
Like many Schnauzers, Rainey has a curious streak—if left alone without proper enrichment, she’ll happily explore your belongings. But give her puzzle toys, a good bone, or a cardboard box, and she’ll keep herself busy like the little puzzle master she is.
Rainey does come with a few important needs:
She is a flight risk in new environments and with new people. Because of this, she must have secure housing, sturdy fencing, and very cautious handling during transportation and transitions (in/out of cars, doors, etc.). Her adopter will need to be patient and proactive.
She takes several weeks to acclimate in a new home. During this adjustment period, her anxiety is highest, and she’ll need consistent reassurance and structure to help her settle.
But once Rainey trusts you, she blossoms into the most loyal, playful, and loving companion. She thrives in a home with short grass (long, wet grass is not her favorite!) and with people who understand the quirks and joys of the Schnauzer breed.
Rainey is all things Schnauzer—smart, loving, silly, sometimes stubborn, but always full of heart. She is truly a gem and deserves a forever family who can give her both the safety she needs and the love she craves.
Rainey is available for adoption locally (Florida Panhandle area only).
