TripKo2

Meet the wonderfully impressive, intelligent, dedicated, determined and affectionate giant schnauzer Tripp (aka Hippo). Be aware that the Giant Schnauzer breed is not just a larger version of the mini Schnauzer. The Giant Schnauzer breed needs someone who can handle a lot more dog than a mini schnauzer. Tripp turned 8 years old in March 2024 and he is 94 lbs. His need for exercise is not too demanding, but he still needs a high level of mental stimulation, and his owner must be capable of the personality and physical needs of handling a 100 lb. strong willed dog.

TripKo4Tripp loves to please his human, to compete for the most pets and snuggles (when there are other dogs),  to go on long walks, to play with other dogs, to run in the yard and in the forest, to stand watch at the window,  to bark in supervision when the younger dogs tussle (to make sure they remember he is the boss) , and to bark at passers by. Tripp is well socialized with other dogs of all sizes, with cats, and with people, and he does great on a leash. He loves the dog park for the social experience to run with other dogs but even more so to be admired by all the other humans. Tripp's favorite day is when you take him with you on your outing to Lowes and out and about because hs is certain he will get many admirers.  if you want to talk about getting compliments on your dog...Tripp will turn heads!!!. Tripp  is a great ball retriever and you will definitely want him on your team next time you play tug of war. Tripp will bark on alert when appropriate and when playing with other dogs, but he is not overly noisy. Tripp , is fully house trained.

Tripp3Tripp will challenge any gate that he encounters, to test if it is worthy of his strength, curiosity and intelligence. Because of this he will need an owner with a secure fenced yard. He is also confident that the food you prepped on the counter or threw in the trash was for him (a baby gate blocking the kitchen can prevent this problem.

Tripp2If you think you might be the right family for Tripp, please fill out an adoption application and ask for Tripp.  He is  being fostered in the Florida Panhandle.
